A Legacy of Juneteenth - Black Inventions that Changed the World

Juneteenth, recognized as America's youngest Federal Holiday, celebrates freedom for all while commemorating the end of slavery in the Confederate states. Numerous organizations emphasize that freedom is essential, as it empowers individuals to make informed choices about their lives, stimulates creativity, and fosters personal fulfillment, all of which contribute to a prosperous society.

One of the enduring legacies of Juneteenth is the remarkable number of important inventions created by Black men and women. Many of the innovations discussed in this 50-minute presentation have profoundly impacted our world, yet their inventors remain largely unrecognized.

Join John Cilio as he emphasizes the immeasurable value of Juneteenth and how its freedoms advanced American society. You may be surprised by the inspiring stories of incredible individuals whose inventions have truly transformed the world we inhabit.
