Attend the free Sherman Historical Society event in June and early July and prepare to be impressed—this guy was the ultimate patriot of his time! This Renaissance man was not just a political genius; he was also a formidable businessperson, a fierce advocate for fair representation, and a humanitarian. He wasn’t flashy like some of his contemporaries. He wore simple clothes and spoke plainly, but his ideas embodied the spirit of innovation and unity, creating a national architecture of freedom.

Roger Sherman was a brilliant lawyer, a savvy politician, and an ingenious thinker whose ideas helped stitch together the fragile fabric of a new country. Talking about him sparks conversations and ignites interest in the founding principles of our nation, proving that with the right narrative, history can be as thrilling as any blockbuster! He helped create the first new state in the nation, Vermont, and two of his descendants became governors of Connecticut and a U.S. Attorney General. He worked directly with George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Ben Franklin, among others.

Plan to attend the Sherman Historical Society exhibit this June and July, where the legacy and history of Roger Sherman are rediscovered. Roger Sherman stands tall as an electrifying icon of American history—a pioneering force that reminds us that great leadership doesn’t always mean the loudest voice but the one willing to unite and build together.
