‘Portals Into the Sky’ Topic of Local Author’s New Book

For decades, only professional pilots and flight crews have seen the inside of an aircraft cockpit, which for Sherman resident, author and aviation historian John Cilio represents a portal to freedom and the open skies. Since he was a young man, Mr. Cilio has maintained an interest in mid-20th-century general aviation and military aircraft and the people who made it all possible.
