John is a skilled aviation historian
focused on mid twentieth-century general aviation, military aircraft and the
people that made them possible.As a
member of AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association), EAA (Experimental
Aircraft Association) and an honorary member of the Danbury, Connecticut WWII
Lost Squadron Veterans organization, his stories are recognized for their
excellence in accuracy and authenticity.
He has written over 200 aviation
articles covering everything from Autogiros, Blimps, Corsairs, Mustangs and
secret B-24 missions to bomb Tokyo, to Red Bull Air Race pilots and the stories
behind private aircraft. His stories have been published in more than 20
publications. John spends a lot of time at air shows
around the country and especially enjoys the patriotic air show performances of
Julie Clark and following the Red Bull Air Races featuring Michael Goulian.
John is a marketing professional having worked for a Fortune 10 company most of his career. He is an American Marketing Association Silver Effie
winner and has spoken to large and small audiences in over 60 countries around
the world. This book and other books he publishes are supported by the large
collection of early aviation press photographs he has collected through the
years.
